The Edsel E400 was of 361 CI and 303 HP. Edsel seemed to take a page from Buick by using the torque output to name the engine. It was possibly the other way around, Buick copying Edsel, as the Buick's I recall that used torque figures in naming the enginel were of the mid-sixties vintage.
The original Edsel was available in two sizes, the smaller was built on the Ford frame, and the larger on the Mercury frame. In the smaller iteration, Edsel offered no less than five models, in which the E400 was standard. These were the Rangers, Pacers, Bermudas, Villagers, and Roundups, with the latter three being station wagons.
