White-tailed Kite, with prey

Lathrop Park, Stanford campus

The prey looks to be a juvenile water bird (note long legs); my guess is American Coot. These would have been available at Lake Lagunita, a little more than a half-mile away from Lathrop Park on the Stanford campus.
