Iberia B-747/200

Miami Airport, FL., USA view map

Madrid/Miami/Madrid
Just when I thought I made peace with flying, and really got used to it, the some of the worst flights of my life came along!
I had flown Iberia before, and was quite pleased with it, the service and food were quite good, and the space not so bad.
The problem was this horrendous 747! Just after around 2 hours of our 10 hours flight, we started to get heavy turbulence. Worst, suddenly, out of nowhere, we felt over 1 kms down, according to the map on the tv's.
Having talked to may Pilots before, they all said it was too much for common turbulence, something more like a malfunction, or, what I think now, a pheneomenon called "high speed buffet". all in all, it was horrible, and so was the res of the flight!
On the return the connecting flight from the Caymans was very late, we had to run all over the horrendous Miami Airport, perhaps the worst I've ever found, and ended up in the last seats of the very full 747, on the smoking section, some animals even smoking cigars, and this for 10 hours!
Fortunately, very smooth.
What a night! To forget! Fortunately, at least no more smoking on Airplanes, and no more B-747/200...
...No More? Just you wait!...
