My Grandmother, Mother & Aunts outside their house at Port Stanley on the Falkland Islands
My Grandfather, a carpenter & builder, constructed this and many other buildings on the islands.
He sailed there in 1908 and my grandmother travelled to join him 2 years later & they married in the cathedral at Port Stanley. My mother and her sisters were born at a tiny settlement, North Arm, where he built their first home. They returned home to the UK in 1924, so that the girls could receive a better education.
