Clairvaux Abbey, a one-time Cistercian monastery, founded in 1115 by St Bernard. The present structure dates from 1708.
This was something of a disappointment to us, as we discovered that access is very limited, as the grounds are now occupied
and used as a high-security prison! The guide books didn't tell us this.
