We had just gotten back to Ft. Lauderdale/Hollywood Airport after a quick flight up and back to Tampa on a Wednesday morning on a Southwest Airlines points run and I decided to try the Quarterdeck again. We had very mixed results. I got the Dolphin Reuben sandwich and the first half of the sandwich was pretty good but I bit into something in the second half on the first or second bite that tasted downright awful so I quit eating. I need to inspect the fish inside of sandwiches before eating them sight unseen. Karen ordered a Grouper sandwich "special" that the waiter said was $10.99 but when we got the bill we were charged $16.99. I ordered a "side salad" that the menu said was $2.00 but the bill called it a "dinner salad" and it was $4.00. We don't like to argue with servers because their lives are aggravating enough so we didn't question Juan, who was real nice as a server, but getting charged $8.00 more than anticipated left us with another bad taste in our mouths so we skipped dessert. I came down with stomach problems that night and I had stomach distress until the following Sunday. Maybe we'll try burgers instead of seafood on our next visit to the Quarterdeck if we ever go back. The Quarterdeck, at least at the Dania Beach Pier location, sure doesn't have the seafood quality that the Flanigan's have in their restaurants.
