This is an image that was a lucky capture as I walked by the canal. For those who have known me here a while, you will know that my book, written after the loss of my son James, is called "Into the Mourning Light" and the title was inspired in part by the light I have seen on my morning walks. This is one of those moments where you turn, see something amazing and magical happening in the light, and snap .... the morning was very cold, around -4 deg. The ducks were swimming in a patch of thawed water, and the light through the trees was tranquil, misty and special. I posted the image on Twitter and it was picked up locally by the canal society and various other local groups. I don't often take pictures I am really pleased with, but this is one of them.
