My own variation on one of the most famous paintings ever made; 'Nighthawks', by Edward Hopper.
In my eyes one of the most amazing painters of the 20th century with an eye for contrast, culture and compositions that is so incredibly strong and truly unique, up to today.
Nighthawks. A fitting title to the job we, cargo pilots, sometimes live.
From airport to airport, through datelines and across continents to find ourselves in no, or any, particular time zone at all after a landing at some dark and cold distant cargo apron. Away from home and families.
I sometimes wished that we had a diner or coffee-shop at some of the airports where we have those midnight turnarounds in between flights. The aircraft being refueled and reloaded while we, the flight crew, have a refreshing coffee before heading out again in that dark cold night.
