6. Back to Green

My Yard, Sugar Land Texas

He's looking for insects. I put out old pieces of fruit and veggies for the Squirrel and birds.
Note the tip of his tail.
The green anole lizard (Anolis carolinensis), can lose its tail when caught by a predator and then grow it back.
The regenerated tail has a single, long tube of cartilage rather than vertebrae, as in the original.

Ha! Nothing as 'exotic' as this in our gardens!

Have you named him yet? He's becoming a member of the family.
