Convicts sent in 1787 Wallabadah NSW

Unfortunately it was raining and difficult to photograph...it would have been terribly hard on these people whose crimes were often simply stealing a loaf of bread to feed their families, but I think they made us into the stock we are today.

Our sugar plantations were worked by convicts after slavery was abolished. Many were accused of simple petty crimes. Most didn't live through their sentence. Heat, fever, hard labor... absolute hell.
