Having seen many beautiful images brought back from this location, I thought it might be fun to throw on a backpack and endure the 2300 foot climb over six miles to this meadow at 11,000 feet.
Although the plan was to hike another mile beyond the pines in the distance and the glacially formed lake at the foot of the mountain, I discovered that I had left my wide 10mm lens at home. Knowing that without the wide angle the photos could not include the lake and mountain, the decision seemed best to stop and shoot this scene until dark and then hike back down.
Next time will be better.
