How much more satisfying could anything be than to have hands deep in the soil planting food for our table? It's simply not possible to get any better than this.

I've taken a big risk putting out the sugar snap peas this early - any good gardener will tell me that there is a reasonably strong likelihood of a frost between now and the end of May - in that case I'll be charging round the garden with fleece behaving like a woman possessed.

I can't wait for the home made pasta (made with eggs and herbs from the garden), with sugar snaps and parmesan - yum!
