22° Circular Halo

I used "Live View" and not through the view finder.

From Wikipedia:
"A 22° halo is a halo, one type of optical phenomenon, forming a circle with a radius of approximately 22° around the Sun, or occasionally the Moon (also called a moon ring or winter halo). It forms as sunlight is refracted in millions of randomly oriented hexagonal ice crystals suspended in the atmosphere."

Seen during yesterday's Rocket Day shooting.

I love seeing those halos, although I didn't know what caused them until now. Thanks for the photo and explanation of the phenomenon.

An interesting capture and neat that it was formed by the pole structure.

My aunt always said if there was a ring around the moon it was a sign of rain... :))
