With prayer, my own and that of others I feel
I can stay the course of this journey toward heart surgery
With some semblance of peace, trust, and hope.

I don't always pray with a prayer shawl. There are times, however, when I
need to use symbols to help with focus. There is a marvelous old
book called, "Make Space, Make Symbols," by Keith, published by
Ave Maria Press, that prompted effort to think of
ways I could enable more focused prayer.

(This self-portrait was taken months ago for another project.
It makes me a bit uncomfortable knowing I photographed myself
as in prayer, but I trust God knew/knows my intentions.)
