Mt. Damavand And The Ice Fall

Camp 3, Mt. Damavand, Iran

The summit day, me and my friend were not able to climb to the peak so we spent some time trekking above Camp 3 New Hut.
From here I could see the ice fall at Mt. Damavand, but with no telephoto lens it is only a small white stripe right in the middle of the photo, on the dark rocks on top.
This beautiful ice fall, called Abshar Yakhi, is located at altitude 5100 meters. It is the highest frozen fall in Iran.
This frozen tower fall is approximately 12 meters tall.
It is almost a permenant icefall for some years. But it may collapse in a very hot summer.
The source of water/ice for this fall is a small glacier just above it.

So near, yet so far! I hope it was not some last-minute things that stopped you from getting to the peak.
