Tea and Tulips

I've been hanging out at Flickr a bit and I've noticed that still-life photos are quite popular.
So, as it was dull and dreary today, I decided to try my hands at a still-life myself, using a vintage style cup which was a Christmas gift from a friend and some tulips I had bought as a January treat.

Yes! Yes! I love flickr! The photos reproduce so beautifully there. Sadly, much of the commenting is lacking. Funny how that changes from site to site. Your still lifes in the past always impressed me as you capture a quaint, cozy feel that I like. This is lovely! V

You... you've been cheating on us?? With... {hand to mouth} with... Flickr??? How COULD you?? I mean, I could understand if you succumbed to the smooth charm of Zenfolio and had a fling over there, or if you wanted to recapture your youth with a bit of rough over at DeviantArt, but FLICKR?? I'll never be able to look at a photo of a flock of sheep the same way again, I know I won't! This is nicely lit, and the bare black background lets it stand out very well. I must admit that I'd probably prefer scones with cream and jam to a tulip, though.
