I’ve been bounced today. DM has been doing some design for me for work (in his own time) and he declared my photo not fit for purpose and insisted that he re-shot it “properly”.

This is the left-over cake and candles, after he’s spent ages getting everything just right for the reshoot. It is, of course, an infinitely superior image to my own version but in my defence, on the day I shot it I shot around 300 images and I was panicking about getting them all done. I did realise the image wasn’t as sharp as it should have been but my boss liked its composition so it was used in preference to some other more technically good shots.

It wasn’t good enough for ‘im indoors though so tonight we reshot it and brought it up to scratch. I must say that he’s so much better at the technical side of this than me…though I withhold the right to declare my imagination to make for images with a better feel.
