Gamekeeper's Cottage

Aberlady

I sometimes feel I live two lives. There is the 'work' me who is professional, wearing a suit and frequently travelling for meetings.
Then there is the 'weekend' me who likes to walk in the woods, wearing an old coat and boots, and frequently stopping to watch the birds.
The weekend me went for a walk through the Gosford estate today, in the company of squirrels, buzzards and geese, instead of legal and commercial managers.
Today was much more fun, but paid less. Such is life.
But I found this old cottage that I think was the home of the estate gamekeeper. Nearby were old huts for hanging the game.

Looks like it had been very posh

Such an interesting place. You did an excellent job shooting around the building. It is so nice seeing an abandoned building. Here is the plains of the US, so many of the old farm houses have been torn down. Hard shooting anything old!!!! V.

I love the detail in old buildings like this Bill. You are a weekend warrior. ~v~

Lovely photographers. V

I am somewhat like you, I am semi-retired, operating a small cosulting firm. I work 6 hours a day, three days a week. So I now have a four weekend.. It is a nice compromise, I enjoy the consulting work which gives me some extra cash but I have four days to pursue what I love doing, photography,

Cheers,

David

Glad the "weekend me" went for a walk. Nice find. V (I can almost picture how it would have looked when the game keeper lived there.

Seen better days, but a lovely capture all the same, with great light and color.
