Here's another attempt at LynnH's challenge. We spent a day at Jamestown, Virginia. This is a very interesting place to visit. In one part of the site the archaeologists had excavated a graveyard and when the dig was completed and filled in they put iron crosses on each of the graves. So this is what you see with the James River in the background.
I guess that negative space as a technique doesn't appeal to me, but I have had some fun with it. I ended up with several other exposures that I would post, but I guess the limit is two.
With regard to this image, what I like is the overall blue color which results from the sky and the river taking up most of the frame. I remember experimenting with cobalt toning in high school, and this takes me back to that. I asked myself what I would do with a photo like this. Would it make something nice to hang on the wall or would it be something to enter in an internet photo challenge? I think the latter is correct. I can't see this on the wall in my house. Hopefully some others will post some things.
