Adrian Martinez, a "nationally known representational artist whose work combines a rigorously classical technique with an intensely emotional vision",
painted the new horse a few months ago when the owners of the barn were out of town.
It was a surprise for them. This small barn/garage is located in the alley behind the historic Downingtown Library.

Mr. Martinez is a famed artist and Downingtown resident. The original horse painting had started to deteriorate and this is the replacement painting.
Mr. Martinez designed the 2001 White House Christmas Card and completed a three-panel mural in 2003 which hangs in the White House.
