We started out our harbor tour in brilliantly sunny weather – one reason we decided to go as the timing seemed perfect – but halfway through it started clouding up. When it began to pour, the operator handed out plastic ponchos to the passengers, which took around five minutes to distribute, and when we actually got them, they were very difficult to put on. As a result, we sat offshore from the Little Mermaid sculpture getting soaked. At that point, it started to hail. I finally managed to get the poncho on and my camera in a plastic bag. I took this picture as we returned to the dock, after the rain had stopped and the sun was shining.
It was a messy, very wet experience, but in the end, all we could do about it was laugh. It just seemed so very fitting for the wildly changeable weather we had encountered in Copenhagen.
