After having a look at the Blue Lagoon, we drove to Grindavik, one of Iceland’s most important fishing centers. It was a real working fishing port and quite interesting to spend some time in, watching fishing boats unloading their catches and heading back out to sea.
This was the catch of just one small fishing boat (the one pictured below). It was fascinating to watch them unloading the fish and then loading the boats up with ice and containers to go back out. Actually, it was a bit hazardous trying to photograph things on the dock, and I kept getting yelled at to watch out for cranes.
Anyway, now I see where all that famous Icelandic fish comes from!
