My wife spotted these little eggs on a twig while taking the dogs out this morning.

These are actually cocoons of a parasitic wasp. And if you look closely you will see that the "twig" is actually a caterpillar. Note the hind legs attached to the branch; the head end is supported by a strand of silk. Cool!
