Don't Bite More Than You Can Chew!

This Great Blue Heron just caught the biggest fish I have seen in Alton Baker Park. Unfortunately, it bit more than it could chew (actually just swallow), and it lost it.

Now, Let me tell you my tale of woe! When I saw this heron fishing, I slowly moved closer and grabbed a few shots. All of a sudden it took off. I walked up to the bank of the canal to get some photos of it across the pond, and I saw the dead fish lying on the bottom of the canal. As I turned to get more images of the heron, I heard a loud splash beind me. I turned around in time to see an osprey flying away with the fish. I grabbed a couple shots but they weren't good. I was so mad at myself for missing this. Unfortunately, it is the second time it happened to me in the last five days.

A nice image of this Heron and the fish...
I wish I had a dollar for every shot I've missed over the years. I could pay off all my debts and have a tidy sum left over...
