The walls of this old wooden boat shed by the side of Blairs Loch in Forres have been painted innumerable times. I guess it is ready for another coat but I will be delighted if they hold off painting it for a while yet as the peeling textures in the shadowless indirect light are gorgeous and the sense of rebirth from new Spring growth of colour opposite green ivy clambering up the sides is tangible. My favourite bit the still puckered ivy leaf trying to unfurl at the tip of the plant. It just perfectly illustrates new life.
