We made the trek to Portland today for my semi-annual eye exam at the Casey Eye Institute. Our daughter went along to drive us home. She shot this picture of us with the elk statue outside the building.
The appointment went well. The growth in my left eye has continued to get smaller. And the eye looks good, according to the doctor. More photographs and an ultra-sound were done. I have a cataract in that eye that the radiation treatment caused to grow faster. The doctor here will do the surgery to remove that in the future. A more pressing need is surgery to repair an aortic aneurysm. An artificial section will be grafted in. I have had two heart doctors look at it and both feel surgery should be done very soon, because of the size of the aneurysm.
