I think this image sums it up. This owner had the wrong size pivot bolt and this was the result!

This type of damage will also occur when mounting hardware is loose and unit operates for a while. I worked on many reefer units and it was common to see damage like that with loose belt, yet pivot bolt was correct size. Great website. Thank you.
