We followed what we thought was a loop trail around Bell Rock, and it was a great hike until it seemingly dead-ended on a rocky shoulder with a collection of cairns, but no clear path down or forward. The choice was to bushwhack off rocky ledges and to scramble down rock gulleys, or go back the way we came.
