Max Raabe (born Matthias Otto, 1962) is a German singer from Lünen, a small neighbourtown.
He is most well known as the founder and leader of the Palast Orchester. He and his orchester started their music career in 1992.
Since then they had world wide success with their performances. For example they performed at the New York Carnegie Hall several times in 2005, 2007 and 2010.
Raabe covers vintage music as well as modern pop songs in a 1920-1930s band style, but also writes original songs and music, including film music.

The song 'Lady Marmalade' was originally recorded by the group Labelle and a number one hit in the US charts in 1974.
In 2001 the song was covered by Christina Aguilera, Lil' Kim, Mya and Pink for the Moulin Rouge film soundtrack.
This cover version also became a number one hit in the US charts and won the artists a Grammy Award.
