These are pretty much the clothes I have with me right now, in addition to some jeans, shorts and T-shirts. I find it pretty humorous that my colorful wardrobe is dominated by the mainly black abayas. Who would have ever thought that I’d actually like them? Of course, I still can’t stand wearing the headscarves – they simply fall off all the time, and I haven’t quite gotten the knack of tying them the way Saudi women do (not full face covering, just enough to cover the hair and neck gracefully while staying put). The other day I was so distracted by the thing constantly slipping off while trying to grocery shop, I ripped it off and announced it was time to leave, without finishing our shopping.
