Here are True Facts about The Mantis:

The Mantis has puppy dog eyes. Five of them.
Two large compound eyes and three quote normal unquote eyes on the top of it's head.
The Mantis has excellent eyesight, which you hope it would,
given the fact that it has FIVE FREAKIN' EYES!

Shot with a Canon 5D2 w/ 100mm F/2.8 Macro. I used an AlienBee
B800 strobe outdoors with a battery pack for light. I think I had a couple
extension tubes on the lens as well. Don't remember. Had to adjust the
distance of the light based on how close I got in order to get enough power. I
can't believe the Mantis was so willing to pose! He was above me on a wall,
so I had to be on a chair looking upwards. It was kinda rediculous. I shot at
F/11 for sharpness, but at this distance, you get heavy bokeh no matter what!
