I walked into the Epsom Diner today for my usual baked potato lunch, as I have done on countless occasions over the ten years since I started work in Epsom, to find it was eerily quiet....very few seated customers and no cooking. Tony and Maria quickly updated me on their fire which happened on Friday just before they shut. Apparently they couldn't put it out - one consolation was that the Fire Brigade didn't have far to go!

Quote of the day from Tony (after being asked if it was really scary).....'it takes a lot to scare me!' Mr Macho Man!!!

On a serious note, Tony & Maria's Dad was injured by inhaling too much smoke and spent the weekend in hospital. Get better soon.....
