This juvenile Night Heron was found perched in this tree trying to get a bit of shut-eye after it had been chased from an area of the nearby pond by a Great Blue Heron. This seems to be a recurring event. For several mornings now, the young Night Heron was chased from the pond by the GBH.

Very beautiful. It has a determined look. The GBH is a really territorial bird and I've seen them run off everything.
