Yesterday afternoon in Côte d'Or for the day, four years after we moved from here. We returned home to
the Hautes Alpes at 1am this morning, driving 1000 km in one day, to avoid the French summer
vacation insanity every Saturday in July/August, compounded by the Tour du France. On the left is la Marie
of Créancey, where my wife and I were married in Oct 2001. There were over 120 people packed into the
tiny room, including my parents from the USA - the first time my Dad returned to France since
World War II - for "les engagments du mariage" or reading of legal formalities by the mayor.
In the center is my wife's former primary school, her parents are buried in the village cemetery above the school.
