'The Night Watch' by Rembrandt

"The Night Watch" or "The Shooting Company of Frans Banning Cocq" is the common name of one of the most famous works by Dutch painter Rembrandt van Rijn and indeed is one of the most famous paintings in the world. I hope I didn't distort this masterpiece too much. Removing the frame seemed to help, but I couldn't do anything about the reflection.

For a wonderful flash mob re-creation of this work of art, have a look at http://www.telegraph.co.uk/culture/culturevideo/artvideo/9969256/Cultured-flashmob-recreates-Rembrandts-The-Night-Watch.html

It's a nice result despite the light pollution on the top.

Don't know how you got such a clear shot with so many people there. Great work.
Am always amazed that galleries allow photography - here it's strictly banned.

You did a great job, Helen. I don't really see any distortion and I like your decision to remove the frame. It still seems strange to see how bright this painting is after cleaning. I had the same problems with reflections in the MFA, Boston. V
