Giant Green Turtle Eating in the Grass

Naama Bay, Sinai, Egypt view map

Green Turtles, of the genre 'Chelonia Midas' are a very menaced species! They were much hunted because their meat was very appreciated.
An animal like this one, over 3 meters big, is surely over 100 years old, and a rarity!
I heard a story this turtle was on the main beach, just in front of the Hotels. I couldn't believe, so I decided to swim there, no air tanks, just to check! I managed to find her, take this photos, although I later realised she was quite deep for free diving: -20 meters!
Next day I returned to film, but no photos that time...
After all these years, with tourism growing more then 500% in the area, I'm not so sure this majestic Green Turtle is still alive...
