The Oude Kerk (old church) dates from the 13th century when a wooden church was built in a burial ground on a sand bank. The present Gothic structure is 14th century and has grown into a basilica. We went by here several times, but unfortunately it was always closed. It is, however, located in a fascinating part of town, the very explicit red light district. The half-dressed (well not even half) women in all the storefront windows, however, weren't too keen about cameras.
