10 - Eglise d'Oradour sur Glane

The first thing to do was to divide the people ~ men on one side; women and children on the other.
Perhaps the women were relieved as they walked towards the church with their children.
Being the house of God and peace, what could possibly happen....

Absolute horror took place there, the Germans were already waiting with their machine guns at the ready ... There is such an aura of sadness there even today ... No wonder Général De Gaule, as France's Président, ordered that this place never be torned down and kept as is, as a reminder of what took place there. Your photography of Oradour is stunning Stéphanie.
