Carriage Ride passing Rainbow Row

Charleston, SC

The brightly colored homes were first built between 1740-87 as merchant houses. There were stores on the bottom and living quarters above. At that time they were directly on the water. Over the years the buildings became slums. In the 1930's they were restored as the valuable homes that they are today.

Yes, that is Charleston at finest. I am glad you got out before the REAL heat and humidity hit, Cindy; the place is unbelievable in July and August!
