a few weeks ago we experienced the hottest tuesday in march since measuring started!

I am with you on what is going on, I was in Panama Florida two weeks ago and we had frost warnings.

As for what is going on at the moment this article in the Guardian is quite illustrative (if depressing, as it implies that in the future we will have such phenomena at a regular basis)
