ON THE MOVE/IN MOTION/MANY

Sugar Land TX

March Monthly Challenge - On the Move
Weekly Challenge #150 - In Motion
Monday Challenge - Many or Plenty

Practicing my panning skills on these returning Monk Parakeets (also known at Quaker Parrots)
Our green parrots went farther south for the winter, but are returning now. This flock is the colony that lives near my house.

They are rather difficult to photograph when flying because they dart, spin and dive in all directions.

they dart, spin and dive in all directions...as playful as our lorikeets
and then it becomes difficult to catch them with the camera

Super shot against the sky.

Good steady photo of birds in motion. They are colorful and attractive looking birds when seen close up. Here in the Northeast Monk Parakeets take over a tree or telephone pole with huge communal nests.

Your panning is perfect here. Their motion is completely stopped. Great silhouettes against the blue sky. V.

Great catch but I never seen that many parakeets. They must be common and wild? V

You did well here to get one shot for all...like the formation the birds build in the sky and your fast shooting! v.
