“Musica delenit bestiam feram”.

Working out now for 26 days, dropping ten pounds and building up my endurance and seeing results has been fueled by some good music. I am ready to divorce my iTunes library. My music is stale like a bag of chips my kids tossed back in the cupboard without sealing them up. The bag still looks good but first taste and blah. That’s where I am at with my music, playlist and workout routine.

Musica delenit bestiam feram basically means Music soothes the savage beast… I don’t want to soothe it, I want to fuel it.

Anyone have any recommendations on good music, artists or workout tunes to fuel that inner beast? I have $50 bucks in iTunes gift cards that have been dormant, sitting like a bag of unopened chips in the pantry. I am tearing into them and going to “enjoy” them. Share with me your best tunes. Barry Manilow, Styx, Justin Bieber, and Air Supply need not apply…
Looking to find some new tunes to fuel my workouts…

If worse comes to worst I suppose there's always the old Rocky soundtracks...
I have no idea I'm afraid, I've been spending way too much time on work lately so it's wall to wall Bach which helps me concentrate rather than punch the bag. Closest I've come to contemporary is The Piano Guys on You Tube.
Interesting juxtaposition in this shot with the one earphone up and sharply in focus and the other face down and out of it; it's a bit of a yin and yang thing, which is usually the best kind of exercise regime.

After thought from today's workout.
I like some of Redlight Kings songs for working out. Bullet in my Hand is on my playlist.

Oh David,I really like the shot, and I hardly EVER give suggestions,but..... that pesky little strip of paper, you know that one that is covering up some letters, could you just pull that off there and let me see how it looks without it? B*)

So you're tired of Justin Bieber already? My workout music has been the same for several years now. Metallica and Lynyrd Skynyrd top out my very short list. How about using Pandora?

I love ALL music. But for workouts, I like 80s dance music... probably not your style. LOL

Mike, Chevelle- Do you LIKE their music, or the Name of the group? (Music rocks,) But very funny when you think of your car passions!

Well, if you can handle Slayer's lyrics, Black Magic is a classic, and the whole Seasons in the Abyss album rocks.

Backing off the ledge a bit...
Down by Socialburn
Wisconsin Death Trip by Static X.
War Machine by Kill Devil Hill.
Mud Shovel by Staind.
Gone by Fuel
Caught in the Rain by Revis
Blow Me Away &
Break My Fall by Breaking Benjamin
Anything by Alter Bridge

Power Ballads:
Drowning by Saving Abel
Stay by 12 Stone
Break by 3 Days Grace

When I put "Come to Life" by Alter Bridge into Pandora, it never disappoints.

Have fun.
