Harris has some of the best beaches anywhere in the UK and Traigh Scarasta has to rank as one of the finest on the Hebridean isle. I have a great penchant for salt marshes and this one at the end of the bay has one of the most intriguingly complex arrangement of naturally occurring channels I have ever seen. I was very fortunate to arrive here on a day with such a hugely attractive cloud formation billowing over the distant hill and despite it being late afternoon and well clear of the golden hour the light proved very suitable for extracting the intense display of colours.
