Our little girl is growing up!

Tali is a sophomore in high school. She went to Homecoming with a friend of hers. They met at our house, spent a couple of hours primping, and then asked me to take some pictures. At first I thought she just wanted some snaps, but she asked me to get out my studio flashes and do it right. I shot the series in our backyard. I wish now I had added a third light behind the girls to illuminate the trees, and also to serve as a kicker/hair light to add a little light to her hair.

Shot with 2 Elenchrom Style 300s flashes. The key light was camera left, shot through a white umbrella and metered at f/5.6. The fill was a soft box as close to camera position as I could get it to the right, metered at f/4, for a combined exposure of f 6.3.

I think the lighting ratio is just about perfect, but I wish I had put the key light a little higher. This was a rush job however, with no time to test and adjust. Still, I'm pretty happy with the results.
