At Needles Outpost we met Tracey and Gary, the friendly proprietors. We needed a bag of ice so we could make some gin & tonics. The only ice we had was frozen inside the jugs. We also splurged on a couple of bundles of firewood since collecting it is not allowed in the park. We found out that they sell hot showers for $5 ($3 for their own campers). How convenient! The ice was expensive but it's good to know it's there if you need it. They also have a small lunch counter and some food and camping items in the store, and a large solar collector and a diesel generator for the ultimate back up. Life off the grid.
