Got sprinkled on a little on our way to the campground. We got a nice site in Group C - #57. Lots of nice sites here under beautiful trees. We bought and posted our camping permit at the site and left an empty cooler to make it obvious that the site was taken. We were reluctant to start setting up the tent with the rain seemingly so close.

Having nailed down a site for the night, we zipped back into Torrey to Austin’s Chuck Wagon. At the store/deli/bakery, we got some coffee and other necessities. We split an order of tacos…two tacos, one shredded beef, the other pork. A perfect snack after the drive, and at $2.99, they were a great deal and delicious. We grabbed a small loaf of banana nut cranberry bread for breakfast. Austin’s is a great value and nice folks too. They have clean, reasonably priced rooms (we’ve stayed there on past trips) and a laundromat.

Back to the campground we went. Out of the suitcase came our tent, sleeping pads, double sleeping bag, lantern, single burner stove, and percolater. Set up our brand new chairs and our site was good to go.
