This looks like a typical example of Boletus auripes. Olive/brown smooth cap, bright yellow stem, flesh and pores are typical. The reticulation on this species is variable, sometimes fine and almost invisable but later on in development noticable but NEVER coarsely reticulate over all like we find in Retiboletus ornatipes. This mushroom, B. auripes was very common in oak/beech forests in CT the 2nd and 3rd weeks of Aug.
