From the airport, the Alibus makes its first stop on the northern side of
the square, leaving a walk of some 200/300 yards to the rail station.
The big glass box between those flagpoles, next to the new kiosk for the
Municipal Police, actually houses a handy new entrance - which cuts out
the main concourse (Trenitalia's "Napoli Centrale" area).
That's ideal for those heading to the subterranean "Piazza Garibaldi"
station, where the platforms are used by...
(i) the city's Metropolitana services, on the first level down.
(ii) a floor below those, Circumvesuviana trains to Pompei, Sorrento etc.
