Our beaches always give us something for our imaginations to play with. I think it is a bit of driftwood:-) Love the shot Margot...

LOL at Cindi!
I think this is an albino vulture devouring a mammal femur bone! :)

It looks to me like a Tawny Frogmouth...which is not an owl

while that other is definitely a Dinosaur leg bone :)

I really thought this was a bird from the thumbnail. Well found. A beautifully conceived image.

It truly does look like a bird, a raptor of some kind. And that long piece of wood (?), looks polished, as if a piece of art. Against that amazing backdrop, this makes for a stunner of an image.

Great find! It does look like a bird. Looks like some kind of hawk to me.

Wow, isn't this interesting! Perhaps some local artist can keep the wood and elaborate on the form a little. :)

I see a femur bone...the horizontal one. The other does seem birdlike to me. Both reveal the lines of wear and weathering and are perfectly placed to draw you into the scene -- a strata of jumbled rocks, another of silken watery stillness, a third of blended sandbar, water and sky opalescent white, with a stanchion of trees on the left to frame and ground the image and a distant series of indistinct silhouetted shapes to make you peer and wonder. A complex and wonderfully conceived composition.

It does look like a bird, but I'm not going to tell you what I thought it first was in the thumb...I thought Lorena Bobbitt was at it again. Sorry! Love ya1 Very cool image and great details throughout. :)
