Paul, not sure if it was smoke or dust but it drifted from left to right and was gone in a few seconds. Probably lighting a grill for street food. -Najinsky

Thanks for the feedback, my subject was the motorbike and it was a quick snap while standing in the middle of a busy road so I didn't really take time for framing, and as you say, the right side has no interest. I do have a couple more but the smoke is dissipating and the shadows fade. I did try a few alternative crops but they didn't come to much. Looking at it now, a portrait crop of the shadow might work for this theme, and the 5D2 has no shortage of pixels to play with so I may get something. I'll try when back at the computer. Those are pretty neat diagonal mid-air shadows. Almost missed them. There must be a scientific term/name for it. Might you have a version which shows that part of the shot closer up? would hate to crop that much out of a shot but I think the left side is much more interesting.
